রাইস টুংরো ভাইরাস (Rice Tungro Virus) নামক এক ধরনের অতি সূক্ষ্ম জীবাণু দ্বারা এ রোগ হয়ে থাকে।

রোগটি আউশ ও আমন মৌসুমে বেশি হয়। টুংরো আক্রান্ত চারা রোপণের মাধ্যমে রোগ
ছড়ায়। সবুজ পাতাফড়িং (নেফোটেটিকস ভাইরেসেন্স), আশপাশে স্বেচ্ছায় গজানো
রোগাক্রান্ত গাছ, বাওয়া ধান বা ঘাসের মাধ্যমে এই ভাইরাস ছড়িয়ে থাকে। বাহক
পোকা আক্রান্ত গাছ থেকে ২-৩ মিনিট কাল রস শোষণ করেই ভাইরাস সংগ্রহ করতে
পারে এবং তা পরবর্তী ২-৩ মিনিটে সুস্থ গাছে রস শোষণ কালে সংক্রমণ করতে
পারে। ফলে সুস্থ গাছটিতেও ২-৩ সপ্তাহের মধ্যেই রোগের লক্ষণ প্রকাশ পায়
Adjust planting time. Sow seeds early, when possible, after the onset of the rainy season.
Split nitrogen fertilizer application in two or more treatments. Excessive use of fertilizer can increase blast intensity.
Flood the field as often as possible.
Silicon fertilizers (e.g., calcium silicate) can be applied to soils
that are silicon deficient to reduce blast. However, because of its high
cost, silicon should be applied efficiently. Cheap sources of silicon,
such as straws of rice genotypes with high silicon content, can be an
alternative. Care should be taken to ensure that the straw is free from
blast as the fungus can survive on rice straw and the use of infected
straw as a silicon source can spread the disease further.
Systemic fungicides like triazoles and strobilurins can be used
judiciously for control to control blast. A fungicide application at
heading can be effective in controlling the disease.
The characteristics of a ideal seedbed are: uniformly firm soil to depth
of 5 inches (12.7 centimeters), adequate soil moisture, and weed free.
Each of these characteristics help the seed to have the best chance to
germinate and flourish. A seedbed that is weed free allows the desired
crop to grow without the fierce competition for nutrients, space, and
sunlight. Adequate soil moisture triggers the enzymatic changes needed
to grow. The seedbed needs to be firm because that indicates that
moisture down in the soil can be brought up for seed germination. Fluffy
soil at the surface usually means too much air is trapped in the soil
and that will dry out the conditions and seeds will not germinate.the seedbed must be well drained. For Ensuring the above the size of the seedbed should be 3 M X 1 M.
একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে কোনো প্রতিবেশে বসবাসকারী সকল উৎপাদনকারী ( উদ্ভিদ),
ভোক্তা (মাংসাশী প্রাণী) এবং হ্রাসকারীর (অতি ক্ষুদ্র অনুজীব) পরিমান হচ্ছে
বায়োমাস।
গ্রীষ্মকালীন টমেটোতে যে হরমোন ব্যবহার হয় তা শুধুমাত্র ফুল ও ছোট অবস্থায়
ফল ঝরে যাওয়া রোধ করতে। তবে ফল বড় করা, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে গাছে প্রয়োগসহ অন্য
কাজে হরমোন ব্যবহার করা হলে তা স্বাস্থ্যের জন্য ক্ষতিকর।
